Vacation Ready! California Coast Road Trip

Thursday, June 12, 2014

Drive south on Hwy 1 from San Francisco & you will find the most beautiful stretch of California coastline. Dotted with picturesque towns, fruit stands, surfers, & gorgeous beaches, this stretch of coastline is definitely vacation and road trip ready.
Although we have recently relocated, Story of My Dress spent the last 4 years Coastside. As we daydream about one of our favorite places, we thought we'd curate our very own travel guide to to help you plan your very own road trip to the California Coast, including a few items from our Poshmark closet we find packing worthy.

Not to miss:

*La Costanera's outdoor patio in Montara for Sangria, amazing views, & fabulous Peruvian food.
*San Benito House in Half Moon Bay for Sandwiches. Perfect for eating in their big courtyard or for taking to the beach.
*Hwy 1 Brewing Company is a new & welcome addition to the coast. If the weather's nice, be sure to bring your drink out to the garden in back.
*Duartes in Pescadero. order the 1/2 artichoke, 1/2 chile soup & a slice of Ollalieberry Pie and they'll think you're a local.

*Tidepooling at Seal's Cove Marine Preserve in Moss Beach
*Berry Picking, Fruit Stands (they dot the coast). Or check out the Half Moon Bay Pumpkin Festival if you're around when it's happening.
*Try your hand at surfing (you'll need a wetsuit), or just find a spot along the coast and watch the surfer's play. The Big Wave Meverick's Surf competition is held in El Granada, so you know these are some good waves.
*Santa Cruz Boardwalk

*The Goodwill in Pacifica is incredible if you like thrifting
*Downtown Half Moon Bay for boutique shopping.

*Glamping at Costanoa. Just South of Half Moon Bay, before Santa Cruz. Stay in one of their distinctive tent bungalows (electricity, sliding windows, locking door). Combining the best part of camping with the comforts we all appreciate! Think outdoor fireplaces, 24 hour dry sauna, outdoor hot tub, restaurant, beach access, hiking trails, wireless internet access...

We hope you enjoy this portion of the California coast as much as we do.
