Celebrate Earth Day and Give 1 Pound
Friday, April 22, 2016
Did you know the average person throws out over 70 pounds of clothing each year?! Earth Day is the perfect time to clean out your closet for Spring and #Give1Pound to Goodwill (instead of the Landfill!). Save the planet and support job training, because doing good never goes out of style!
Last year Seattle Goodwill kept over 50 million pounds of useful goods out of the landfill, and supported free job training and education programs reaching over 8700 people. I'm a huge fan of thrifting (a few favorite thrifted outfits here, here and here) and many of my fab thrift finds have been found at Goodwill. I love that I can get my thrift on, help the planet by keeping things in my closet and out of the landfill AND help people overcome adversity through job training and education. Win-Win-Win!
This year for Earth Day I cleaned out my closet and donated 1 pound of clothing to Seattle Goodwill!
You can see which other local Seattle celebrities decided to #Give1Pound this year for Earth Day right HERE! I challenge you to #Give1Pound too!
