From Spring Blossoms to Summer Sunshine

Wednesday, June 5, 2019

We are now a few days into June, which means we're moving from spring blossoms to summer sunshine! The past few months have brought cherry and plum blossoms to our Seattle neighborhood, as well as beautiful flowers and a slow increase in temperatures. With the sun setting now after 9pm, summer is truly in the air!

With spring blossoms giving way to summer sunshine, if you haven't already, it's time to break out the sundresses and summer sandals and bags! I was thrilled to find this dress by Tularosa on a recent thrifting adventure. Although it has long sleeves, it is lightweight cotton, with gorgeous embroidery and lace details, and a new favorite dress for the season.

Tularosa is known for it's refined vintage-inspired collection of romantic dresses, textural jackets and embroidered tops designed for the wild at heart. A beautiful modern bohème LA-based brand, Tularosa is one of my go-to's for summer.

For a recent neighborhood walk in Seattle, I styled my Tularosa Dress (sold out, similar) with a pair of Paseart Espadrilles Wedge Sandal (similar) from Spain, a Bali Rattan Top Lid Shoulder Bag and a pair of Cole Haan Aviator Sunglasses.

I absolutely love espadrilles in summer! A great alternative to a flat sandal, Spanish espadrilles comes in a variety of heights, colors and styles. A quintessential summer shoe, espadrilles can be easily dressed up or down and have been around since the 13th century! Created to be simple, yet functional, the name espadrilles is derived from the word esparto, a reference to the plant that makes up the sole of this perfect shoe.

This Bali Rattan Top Lid Shoulder Bag is one of my go to bags this season. It hold just the right amount (wallet, cell phone, keys, small bag for chapstick and other day necessities), has a long enough strap to wear on one shoulder or cross-body (key for travel) and is a unique take to the on-trend basket bags. I can't stop, won't stop wearing it everywhere!

These Cole Haan Aviator Sunglasses are actually the second pair I've owned of the exact same shades! I lost my first pair and was so disappointed. A friend of mine had the same pair she didn't want and was so sweet to gift them to me (Thanks Jenn!) I love how lightweight they are and am always a fan of a good pair of aviators.

What pieces from your closet are you turning to as spring blossoms give way to summer sunshine?
Happy almost summer!

xoxo
