I recently had the opportunity and incredible honor to attend the 30th annual Nordstrom Designer Preview held at Smith Cove Terminal/Pier 91 in Seattle, Washington. THE most highly anticipated Seattle fashion event of the year, this was my first opportunity to experience the Designer Preview presented by Nordstrom and Vogue in partnership with Seattle Art Musuem supporters. The whole event was a truly magical experience from the moment I stepped from the car and it was one of those nights I wished for the clock to never hit midnight.
Upon entering Pier 91, we were greeted by a showcase of the latest fall collections from top fashion capitols of the world. With nearly 600 guests in attendance, including Wendy Nguyen of Wendy's Lookbook and vogue Market Editor Alexandera Michler, guests browsed featured fashions, sipped drinks inspired by the upcoming Yves Saint Laurent: The Perfection of Style exhibit at Seattle Art Museum (I personally enjoyed The Yves), enjoyed nibbles and conversation, took selfies and snaps in the photo booth and shopped the latest fall fashions from the runway.
Sitting front row at the 30th Annual Nordstrom Designer Preview Fashion Show, each look that hit the runway left me more and more inspired and excited for fall fashion. From the absolutely gorgeous Marchesa dresses (I want them all please!) to the avante garde of the SPACE Shop Designers, each look down the runway was breathtaking. Forty models walked the runway in 96 looks from designers includeing: Dior, Dolce & Gabbana, Dries Van Noten, Alexander McQueen, Undercover, Simone Rocha, Junya Wantanabe, Akris, Altuzarra, Stella McCartney, Vetements, Marchesa, Missoni, and more.
Following the show, guests nibbled deserts and sipped bubbles, while shopping, pre-ordering and ooohhing and ahhhing over favorite pieces just seen on the runway. It was truly a night to remember!
The annual event raised more than $176,000 for the Seattle Art Museum's upcoming Yves Saint Laurent: The Perfection of Style, on view from October 11, 2016 through January 8, 2017. The YSL exhibit at SAM is a must-see, so mark your calendars now and buy those tickets, because yes, they are already on sale!
And although Seattle may be currently hitting 80+ degrees, I am already trying to incorporate some of the fall trends I adored from the Preview including rock chic, touchy feely velvet and lots of embellishments. A huge THANK YOU to Nordstrom for the opportunity to attend the 2016 Nordstrom Designer Preview!
