Oh hello Winter (officially tomorrow.) It's now time for a new season and new wardrobe, although really it feels like we've been in winter for a month or so already here in the Pacific Northwest. Between windstorms, rain and a wintry mix of rain and snow today, the need to at least dress like it's winter has been here for awhile.
With the official start of the winter season tomorrow, today (on the last day of fall), I'm sharing with you my favorite winter style essentials. Snow, dropping temperatures and après ski call for not just utilitarian attire, but also the best elevated essentials.
This year my winter style essentials include beautiful gold rings, cozy and weather proof boots, warm puffer jackets, chunky sweaters, modern saddle bags, emerald dresses and elevated rain gear!

Open your eyes and count to five. One gold ring for every finger please! That's how we feel about gold rings. And honestly, sometimes (most of the time) we even prefer more than one gold ring per finger!
The newest gold ring addition to our hand is the beautiful AURATE X KERRY: Venus Organic Pearl Gold Ring. Wow oh wow, isn't it stunning?! This beautiful ring is delicate, yet strong. Designed in 100% recycled gold and centered around elements from the ocean, every shell, texture, and pearl is unique in its intricacies. So obsessed.

Open your eyes and count to five. One gold ring for every finger please!
Snow, freezing temperatures and après ski call for all the cozy winter boots please! With winter wonderland comes rain, slippery sidewalks and snow to trudge through, requiring the perfect pair of winter boots to beat the winter elements.
Coffee in hand, strolling Pike Place Market, rain falling; so quintessential Seattle, so Pacific Northwest. A quick stop at La Panier for bread, DeLaurenti for cheese, wine and pasta and the local farmers' market stalls for vegetables; a quick laugh at the tourists in line at the original Starbucks before heading home, oh how I love our City life.
Warm, cozy and waterproof boots ensure the Seattle rain (and snow!) does not chill to the core. I spy ferry boats along Puget Sound heading for islands and consider stopping at Fran's Chocolates for double chocolate figs for dessert before heading home.
With the belief that "nature is the best inventor," EMU Australia has been making sustainable footwear for more than 25 years. Originally designed for post-surf wear, their classic boots are crafted from water-resistant, double-faced Australian sheepskin to keep you extra warm. EMU Australia Boots are a perfect choice for the winter season.
Long live the puffer jacket! The puffer jacket is an absolute essential item for any and all closets
to keep out the cold and chill of the winter season. The old school
puffer, typically with a nylon shell and puffed quilted sections filled
with insulated material, is one of my favorite cold weather staples.
It's also currently trending on the runways and on the streets which
means an absolute Win Win cold weather situation! Yay for Puffer Season!
Now available in a rainbow of colors, and a variety of fabrics and styles, the puffer jacket has quickly become an essential item for any closet! The Everlane ReNew Long Puffer is a perfect choice for this season!
At Everlane they want the the right choice to be as easy as putting on a great t-shirt. That's why they partner with the best, ethical factories around the world, source only the finest ingredients and share the product story with you, including the true cost of every product made. It's a new way of doing things and they call it radical transparency.
Winter weather means sweater weather! Perfect for aprés ski, strolls around town and cozying up by the fire with a cup of cocoa, a warm chunky sweater is a must this season. I am particularly a fan of chunky turtleneck sweaters at this time of year.
Perfect for layering over a long sleeve, denim or dress, a chunky sweater both keeps your warm and adds style to an outfit at a time of year when outfits tend towards utilitarian.
I have so much love for a good saddle bag, and even better, is an elevated take on our favorite everyday companion, a Modern Saddle Bag. Cuyana's version is
made to keep your necessities secure, wherever you're headed. Versatile
by design, the strap is crafted with a Cuyana signature buckle to enable
you to change the strap to a length that best suits your needs, either
as a shoulder our crossbody bag!
Made from Italian leather in Turkey, a country where artisans have produced quality leather goods since the 15th century, Cuyana bags are made to last a lifetime!
When I think about holiday style, I tend to reach for red, gold and
burgundy. There is something to be said, however, about a little emerald
dress. Rarer than the little black dress (LBD) or
little red dress, the little emerald dress can be just as eye catching!
Because you probably need a new emerald dress . . .
Good rain gear an absolute must-have in the Pacific Northwest. Winter can lead to both rain and snow, requiring outer layers to deal with all elements. I have long struggled to find rain gear that is stylish, sustainable and keeps me dry, until I discovered Feller!
Feller
makes re-imagined waxed cotton outerwear that is stylish, has an
elevated style, keeps you warm and dry, is a woman owned brand, uses
sustainable fabrics and is based in Seattle! So basically, win, win,
win, win for me and my closet (and perhaps yours?!).
Available in a variety of fun prints, I particularly love the Feller Queen Anne Trench in Brown Tartan.
This year my winter style essentials include beautiful gold rings, cozy
and weather proof boots, warm puffer jackets, chunky sweaters, modern
saddle bags, emerald dresses and elevated rain gear! What are your favorite winter style essentials? I would love to know! Please leave your favorite winter style essentials in the comments!
