Closet Refresh: Spring Favorites and ThredUP Giveaway!

Thursday, March 10, 2016

This past weekend we decided to head out of the City for a road trip, destination unknown. The weather was hitting high 60s and Spring was in the air, the perfect ingredients for a little adventure. We headed north on I-5 out of Seattle and exited to take Chuckanut Drive to Bellingham. Taking advantage of the lovely weather, I wore a few of my Spring favorites I recently discovered on ThredUP.

The drive along Chuckanut was just perfect, with stops for photos and to take in the view of the islands. It's a great alternative to the highway, just a single road along the water, and ends in Bellingham, our decided destination for the day. Chuckanut actually ends in my favorite part of the 'ham - Fairhaven, the cutest historical district you ever did see. I just LOVE Village Books and Colophon Cafe, and of course lounging on the village green in front. And no visit to Fairhaven would be complete without enchiladas at Dos Padres and drinks at Le Chat Noir.

Following Fairhaven, we made our way to the campus of Western Washington University, my undergrad Alma mater. Walking through campus, as it now approached 70 degrees, we dodged frisbees and hackysacks, oh the days! Students were out in shorts and sandals, so I fit in nicely with my floral dress and sandals I found on ThredUP. Since it was still a bit chilly (much to my displeasure - come on Summer!), I paired the dress and sandals with a vintage sweater underneath to keep the morning chill off, and added accessories of an Isabel Marant pour H&M belt and Moorea Seal Sunnies. As the day warmed up I ditched the sweater/belt and paired with a lighter layer of a vintage denim shirt. Layering is essential for the Spring (or almost Spring) season.

ThredUP is like an online thrift store/consignment shop, and trust me, you can find the best stuff! Refresh your wardrobe for Spring without event leaving the house, sounds pretty great to me! Items can be found up to 90% off (yes 90% off!) and include such brands/designers as Clare V., Isabel Marant, J.Crew and Sea New York. And what's even better is that when you're done with your clothing, you simply request and fill up a ThredUP bag and put it on your doorstep with the items you no longer want. ThredUP covers shipping, pays you for items they can sell and you earn cash! So easy!

I recently discovered this Isabel Marant Etoile floral dress for only $32 and these Ancient Greek Sandals for only $45 on ThredUP! With ThredUP offering new customers a 40% discount on their first purchase, my shopping cart totalled less than $50! Sold! I had recently spied and fell in love with an Isabel Marant Etoile dress on Net-a-Porter costing well over $500 and Ancient Greek Sandals for $200. At a savings of at least $650, with total cost less than $50, I'd say that's a pretty sweet deal! Hello new Spring favorites!

What's an even sweeter deal, is that I've partnered with ThredUP to offer one lucky Story of My Dress reader a chance to win a $50 credit to shop on ThredUP! Perfect for your own Spring wardrobe refresh!
