Oh hello November!! It's nice to see you again! I can't believe it's already time to enjoy the last bits of Fall and start preparing for the holidays. Do you have any fun plans for the holiday season?  I can't wait to bake cookies, decorate our home, spend time with friends and family and enjoy some holiday shopping!

However, before I get ahead of myself and into the holidays, I want to make sure to enjoy one of my favorite seasons, Fall! There is still officially a month and a half of the fall season and I want to do all I can to breath in the crisp autumn air, dance through leaf piles and truly enjoy sweater weather and boots season.

I am particularly a fan of the fall season for the fashion. Sweaters, boots, denim and layers all season long for the win please! This fall I am particularly loving three trends that I just happened to already have in my closet and you might too! If not, I've got a few suggestions for easy additions to your wardrobe.

It's so easy to fall into autumn with these 3 trends!

MUSTARD

The perfect color for the golden hour of autumn, mustard is everywhere from the runway to the streets and I love it! I am a big fan of warm mustard tones and am pleasantly happy to see this versatile shade all over the place.

Although usually considered a summer shade, this warm primary color is perfect for pairing with rusts, browns and other on trend colors of the season. Sweaters, sweatshirts, outerwear and accessories are my favorite ways to wear this shade in fall.

The mustard sweatshirt I am wearing in this post is from the Uniqlo U FW18 collection at Uniqlo. Unfortunately, the mustard color is sold out in all sizes right now, although a number of other colors are still available (I also have it in both pinks!) It is by far my favorite sweatshirt. At a price point under $30, it's worth picking up a few in a few different colors (a fraction of the cost of an APC or Acne sweatshirt!)  I do recommend sizing up.

These are a few mustard tone items currently in my shopping cart that I think are just perfect for fall ~

PLEATED SKIRTS

Made by doubling cloth or other material on itself and than pressing or stitching it into place to make a fold, this fall calendar favorite is a must have. One of fall's most prevalent details and featured by designers such as Altuzzara on the autumn/winter 2018 runways, all we can say is pleats please!

The skirt I am wearing in this post is an (almost) vintage Trina Turk pleated skirt I found at a thrift shop when I lived in Half Moon Bay, California. I've probably owned this skirt for almost 5 years and to be completely honest, I haven't worn it until now and I am so glad I held on to it!

The pleated midi skirt is particularly of the moment, but I say rock whatever style of pleated skirt (or dress or pants or  . . .) fit you best! It's easy to dress up a pleated skirt for the office with heels, a belt and a sweater or button down top. For a night out, go with a crop top or leotard and heels or flats and a clutch. For the beach just add an oversized tee knotted and a pair of sandals.

While on trend for fall, the pleated skirt is really more a of a classic and a perfect addition to any closet currently missing this versatile favorite. Shop a few of my current favorite pleated skirts I'm considering purchasing ~

WESTERN BOOTS

Every closet deserves a pair of well worn in, perfectly fitting like a favorite tee, with a story to tell pair of cowboy boots. Mine happen to be vintage black label Frye. They were my first eBay purchase over 10 years ago and I am so happy I never parted with them during a closet purge or clean-out.

My vintage Frye boots fit my feet perfectly and every scuff tells a story of a place visited, a trail wandered or a new path taken. They have seen life changes, big moments, little moments, and everything in between. While no longer in new condition, I love them more even for it. I also never saw them in new condition, as I purchased them already used with stories and roads traveled of a prior owner. These boots are from the 70's!

I somehow knew never to part with these boots. I just had a feeling cowboy boots would make their way around again on the runway, rack and street. And guess what? Cowboy boots are definitely back for fall 2018! For reals! The western trend you might remember from your childhood, teens or twenties (depending on your age) is ready to (or should I say already has) returned and you're about to see it everywhere.

From Isabel Marant to Fendi to Off-White, runway boots and the overall theme of the American west was widespread on the autumn/winter 2018 runways. Now trickling down to Zara and Topshop, get ready for cowboy boots! These are a few versions I am currently digging ~
