A Denim Story and a Love Letter

Levi's 501 The Original Button Fly Jean (vintage, similar) | Everlane Cashmere Crew Sweater | Known Supply Customized Tee c/o | Moorea Seal Millie Basket Bag | Courage Coins Necklace c/o | Moorea Seal Sunglasses c/o (sold out, similar) | Nine West Pumps (sold out, similar)

This is a bit of a denim story. It's also a bit of a love letter to a customized tee and an adoration of a soft and lovely cashmere sweater. At the end of winter, with spring on the horizon, I am finding joy in beautiful pieces of clothing that are the softest, the coziest, the comfiest, of the highest quality and fit just so perfectly.

A Denim Story

I found this pair of vintage Levi's 501 The Original Button Fly Jean (similar) while thrifting. Vintage denim is one of the items I ALWAYS look for at secondhand stores. I peruse both the men's and women's racks in search of classic vintage denim from Levis, Wrangler, Jordache and Calvin Klein.

However, I definitely give preference to the Levi's 501 The Original Button Fly Jean, and always size a couple sizes up. I love the high waist, iconic straight fit, and signature button fly of the 501. I prefer vintage denim for style, fit, quality, and price. I also love that each pair of jeans comes with it's own story.

A Denim Story and a Love Letter

I found this pair of vintage Levi's 501 The Original Button Fly Jean at Value Village. Inscribed with Jenner in black sharpie on the inside of one pocket and hemmed perfectly to my height, I knew at once I had found my sisterhood of the traveling pants and they were mine to continue their story.

Thank you Jenner.

A Love Letter

Do you know who made your clothes? Known Supply and Everlane are both brands transforming the fashion industry by including radical transparency and ethical fashion at their mission and heart of who they are, with a focus on doing good.

A Denim Story and a Love Letter

My customized Tee c/o Known Supply (and yes, I did literally jump for joy when I saw my name embroidered on it) is seriously my new favorite t-shirt. I am a big fan of a grey t-shirt and this heather grey one is uber soft, perfectly fitted, made from pima cotton and gets better with every wash. Known Supply allows you to customize any of their apparel and makes it super easy.

With a mission of humanizing the apparel industry, this was a brand that was love at first sight. Elevated basics made by people, for people, Known Supply is committed to celebrating both the people making and wearing their clothing. Every Known Supply product is hand-signed by the person who made it (you can find more information about them on knownsupply.com).

Known Supply works with under-served populations to provide meaningful work, help them rise above poverty and to show the powerful impact clothing purchases can have if made thoughtfully. Creating quality staples that quickly become closet favorites, Known Supply is committed to timeless quality, celebrating makers, and a collaborative approach. Love!

A Denim Story and a Love Letter

I've shared my love for Everlane before (here and here) and their belief that we can all make a difference. With a mission of exceptional quality, ethical factories and radical transparency, our relationship is a long lasting romance.

The $100 Cashmere Collection from Everlane is no exception. I adore my heather grey cashmere sweater I received under the tree this past Christmas and have been pretty much wearing it every day since. Oh so warm, soft to the touch, lightweight, with a slightly relaxed fit, the Everlane cashmere sweater is an absolute classic. I find it true to size and now I want every style and color please!

A Denim Story and a Love Letter

For a recent visit to the West Seattle Metropolitan Market to pick up flowers and a few groceries for hosting a dinner party, I styled my vintage Levis with my Known Supply customized t-shirt and cashmere sweater from Everlane, along with a wicker over the shoulder bag from Moorea Seal (sold out, similar) that I adore, a Courage Coins necklace c/o and classic pumps for a timeless denim look.

With a light rain, I wished I had grabbed my umbrella. But such is life in Seattle, c'est la vie!

xoxo

  2. Nice post! This style bible is a chic and sexy look at the myriad possibilities of blue jeans, the classic and ever-evolving fashion essential. Blue jeans are an iconic part of American culture. And, like the American dream, denim is constantly reinventing itself.
