Thank you Value Village for partnering on this post and graciously coordinating a shopping excursion to my local Value Village! All opinions are my own!

DIY Dessert Bar: The Month of Love in Paris

Is there anything more romantic than spending Valentine's Day and the month of love in Paris?! If you're dreaming of spending the month of love in the city of love and romance, why not create that amorous atmosphere at home for your sweetheart with a Parisian month of love themed DIY dessert bar?

This year for Valentine's Day and the month of love I partnered with Value Village to create a DIY city of love themed dessert bar I surprised my husband with on Valentine's Day, after our dinner out for wood-fired pizza and vino. First we had dinner in Italy, than dessert in Paris! Value Village is the perfect place to pick up holiday and party ready decor that's both good for the environment and great for your wallet!

I stopped by my nearby Value Village recently and was able to find almost all the necessary ingredients for a Valentine's Day and month of love in Paris themed dessert bar, including beautiful vintage made-in-France millennial pink plates and vintage mid-century glass luncheon/hospitality trays perfect for the nibbling of sweets and treats. I also scored cake stands and glass platters just oh-so-right for a Parisian-themed month of love dessert display.

I love that thrifting allows for discovery of unique and one of a kind pieces and keeps these treasures out of landfills. It's also great for your bank account, with 96% of items available under $10 bucks at Value Village (and most of the pieces I picked up for my dessert table were only $2-$3).

For dessert I kept it simple, also budget-friendly and purchased all the sweets and treats (as much as I love to bake, it just wasn't happening this year). Raspberry heart cookies from Trader Joes, M&M's Valentine's Milk Chocolate Mix, mini cupcakes, Frango Chocolates, as well as Seattle local Theo Chocolate Bars and classic conversation heart candies for the perfect mix of sweet treats.

I added a few bottles of leftover sparkling wine from our wedding, because what Parisian month of love dessert bar is complete without a couple bottles of bubbly?! Champagne glasses also proved the perfect vehicle for displaying the M&M's and conversation heart candies.

To the table of vintage glassware, chocolate, sparkling wine, cookies and cupcakes, I added Valentine's cards my husband and I had given each other from year's past and a few strands of lights from our wedding. This was the first Valentine's Day that S and I celebrated as husband and wife and love was/is truly in the air!
