It is really starting to feel like Spring in Seattle! After months of hibernation, the emergence has begun as the new season brings sunshine, new blooms and flowers and so many fun things to do! From new store openings to museum exhibits to festivals, spring into summer (and even looking ahead to fall!) in the Pacific Northwest is about to fantastic!
This new What Wear When: Events in Seattle & Beyond feature here on Story of My Dress is something I'm hoping to keep up every week and share with you all the fun things going on in Seattle and beyond. Featuring fashion, style and beauty events, as well as food/drink, art, music, culture and even just for fun, these events and happenings are all things I'm excited about and thought you might be too!
Particularly on my radar going into this weekend and next week is the Amour Vert Grand Opening at University Village today (April 26), a New Menu by Chef Nick Novello for Fisherman's Restaurant & Bar available April 29 and the MOHAI: Seattle Style Fashion/Function Exhibit presented by Nordstrom opening at MOHAI Seattle on May 4!
Here's all the fun things I'm looking forward to . . .

Thank you Basic Invite for sponsoring this post! Basic Invite is dedicated to serving up perfectly customized stationary.
Getting married? A huge congratulations! Now comes the fun part, it's time to spread the word and communicate with your loved ones that you want to celebrate with on your wedding day! You might not know all the details yet, but it's important to let your friends and family know the big W's (who, what, when, where) via save the dates as early as possible so that they can also get ready for your big day and mark it on their calendars.
If you're planning a rustic wedding, think down to earth and natural, yet sophisticated, where nature plays a starring role, I've partnered with Basic Invite to share some rustic wedding themed save the date tips for you! Your save the dates are your first communication with your wedding guests before the big day and the perfect first opportunity to convey your natural meets elegant style.
Whether your venue is a mountain lodge, ranch, forest setting, lakeside resort or a vineyard (my now-husband and I chose a vineyard on an island for our wedding just over a year and a half ago!), these tips are sure to help you on your rustic wedding planning journey and as you create your rustic wedding themed save the dates!

Thank you Travel Tacoma
for partnering on this post!
On the shores of Puget Sound with Mount Rainier standing watch to the east, sits urban port city Tacoma, Washington, an ideal spot for an urban weekend getaway. Just south of Seattle, Tacoma is known for it's world renowned glass art, and is quickly becoming a destination for new restaurants, indie boutiques, beautiful natural parks, art museums, music venues and a stunning waterfront on the saltwater banks of Puget Sound.
Growing up in the Pacific Northwest and the Seattle area, I have to admit I previously thought I had only two reasons to visit Tacoma. One was to attend High School state championship basketball games when our team made it (and miss school!) and two, in college, to go to Dave Matthews Band concerts at the Tacoma Dome. But that has all changed after a recent weekend getaway to Tacoma!
I recently partnered with Travel Tacoma for a 3 day, 2 night visit to Tacoma, WA and quickly fell in love with this vibrant and sophisticated old-meets-new City alive with art, shopping, food, nature and culture.

Story of My Dress!
Feller Queen Anne Trench c/o | Veronica Beard Jeans (sold out - similar, similar) | Cuyana Trapeze Satchel c/o | GANT Featherweight Twill Blouse (sold out - similar) c/o | Sam Edelman Pumps | Cole Haan Aviator Sunglasses
The snow has transitioned to rain in Seattle and although a bit more snow is in the forecast, beginning signs of Spring are starting to appear. Crocuses are beginning to pop up in our yard and small buds are making their appearance on trees. I am definitely ready for this change of seasons, how about you?!
However, with Spring in Seattle comes rain (April showers, bring May flowers . . .) which makes good rain gear an absolute must-have in the Pacific Northwest. I have long struggled to find rain gear that is stylish, sustainable and keeps me dry, until I discovered Feller!
Feller makes re-imagined waxed cotton outerwear that is uber stylish, has an elevated style, keeps me warm and dry, is a woman owned brand, uses sustainable fabrics and is based in Seattle! So basically, win, win, win, win for me and closet (and perhaps yours?!)
